SearchBlox now provides an external connector to index secure Confluence pages and makes it easy to perform faceted search. With the increasing use of Confluence in organizations to manage knowledge bases and private content, it is important for organizations to setup search not only within Confluence but also setup federated search going across Confluence, file servers, databases, external sites and social content to truly break down knowledge silos.
The SearchBlox Confluence external connector can be setup to index the pages and blogs periodically or be run on-demand. The connector does not require any changes within your Confluence setup.
Federated Search for Confluence
Once the pages and blog posts are indexed within SearchBlox, the results from Confluence are federated against other data sources including databases, external websites or even social content from Twitter.
SearchBlox search results can also be embedded within your Confluence site to enable data and content from external sources for discovery and analysis. SearchBlox tag clouds and advanced features like duplicate detection can be used on all of your Confluence based pages/blogs.
