SearchBlox has released the WordPress SearchBlox plugin to make is easy for WordPress site owners to implement faceted search as well as display search results for external websites and custom content from twitter, databases, file systems and even csv files. SearchBlox can be setup in 5 simple steps.
#1 Install SearchBlox Server and the WordPress SearchBlox plugin
You can download and install SearchBlox on any Windows, Linux or Mac OSX server. SearchBlox can also be installed on Amazon EC2 or any cloud hosting provider. Once you install SearchBlox, login to your WordPress plugins section to search for the “searchblox” plugin and install it.
#2 Create a Custom collection and configure your WordPress plugin
Create a new custom collection on the SearchBlox Server. With the Free Edition, you can delete the existing HTTPCollection to allow for creating a new custom collection. Once you have created the new collection, please configure the settings for the SearchBlox server url and collection name.

You can get the API key and the server location after you install the SearchBlox Server.
#3 Index the WordPress site to the collection you created on SearchBlox Server
After you provide the collection name to the WordPress plugin, the WordPress site will be indexed to the custom collection on SearchBlox. You can see the indexing progress and status when complete.
#4 Simple shortcode to embed your faceted search
Use the shortcode [searchblox_search] to embed the search results on any page.
Search Results will be displayed on the Search page with the short code.
#5 Choose the collections from SearchBlox that will be part of the faceted search results
The plugin allows you to choose which collections need to be part of your faceted search results so your WordPress users can benefit from a single search across multiple sites or content repositories enabling federated search.
With a few simple steps you have now enabled advanced faceted search results for your WordPress site and any external content.
