All organizations have a wide range of file servers for employees to create, edit and store files for managing their projects, policies and procedures required for running their business. And the biggest challenge for employees is finding the right files among the large number of folders and file servers quickly through search. Finding the right files at the right time is always challenging especially when there are a large number of policies and procedures to manage including where compliance and regulatory requirements exist.
SearchBlox can search any file directory or server
Whether it is Linux directory path, mounted CIFS or Samba share or Windows UNC/mapped directory path, SearchBlox can index the files and make them available for search through a basic, clustered or faceted search page. SearchBlox can also index cloud mounted files as long as they available through the server where SearchBlox is installed.
Allow and disallow the required folders, file types and file sizes for indexing
SearchBlox provides the ability to include and exclude the required folders. Files can be limited by type (Word, PDF etc.), file size, file age (last month, last 6 months etc.) and security.
Continuous crawling of the file servers or periodic refresh of files
SearchBlox provides the ability to index the folders and then refresh on a frequency (daily, weekly monthly) or setup a continuous crawling of the file servers. Learn more about continuous crawling on our documentation site.
