A big part of the search technology today is how your search results are displayed. Once the user enters the search, there are any number of ways to format and display the results to make it user-friendly and more importantly information access friendly. Google has trained us all on the classic 10 links with a title, description, hyperlink, cached and similar links. While this is a trained phenomenon, there are several ways the same information can be displayed to the user and be made more accessible.
Here are some ways we provide the SearchBlox results to enable greater usability. SearchBlox can have multiple search user interfaces on the same server for different collections and user audiences.
#1 Basic search
#2 Faceted Search
#3 Website or eCommerce Search
#4 Database Search
While each search user interface can help find the right information for the users for a specific use case or scenario, they all come with their own advantages and disadvantages. Organizations can pick a search user interface type with minor customizations to suit their needs and have them deployed quickly. SearchBlox offers the most out of the box user interface templates to pick and customize with their unique integration and branding requirements. With SearchBlox, we can also have different user interfaces with the same results on the same installation due to the JSON/XML integration similar to the Google Search Appliance.
